Plain language about what we collect when you use MatchForge, why we collect it, and how we handle it.

Last updated: August 6, 2026

Who we are

MatchForge helps people find intentional dating introductions. When you complete our matching questionnaire, we use your answers and contact details to understand what you're looking for and to reach out with potential fits.

What we collect

Depending on what you choose to share, we may collect:

  • Match / quiz answers — intentions, lifestyle preferences, and other responses you submit in the matching flow.
  • Contact details — email and phone number so we can follow up with introductions. You may optionally share a Telegram username on a match preview if you want us to follow up there.
  • Technical signals — IP address (best-effort from request headers), browser user-agent, a simple device summary (browser / OS / device type), optional screen size, and referrer, used for security, abuse prevention, and understanding how people find MatchForge.
  • Notes we add later — internal status or notes our team may attach while handling your request (for example, whether we've contacted you).

We only ask for what we need to introduce you well. We do not create a public dating profile unless you clearly choose to continue in a way that involves one.

Why we use it

We use your information to:

  • Match you with people who fit your stated preferences
  • Contact you about introductions — typically by email or phone, and via Telegram if you shared a username
  • Improve how we ask questions and make introductions
  • Keep the service secure and prevent spam or abuse
  • Respond when you ask us to update or delete your data

How it's stored

Lead information (answers, contact details, and technical signals) is stored on our application servers so our team can review and follow up. Access is limited to people operating MatchForge for matching and support.

We keep your information while it remains useful for matching and outreach, or until you ask us to delete it — whichever comes first in practice. If we no longer need a record, we remove or archive it.

Email, phone, and outreach

When you share an email and phone number, you're asking us to contact you about matches and related follow-up. If you also share a Telegram username (for example on a match preview), we may reach out there too. We use those channels for that purpose — not for unrelated marketing blasts. Message apps (like Telegram), email providers, and phone carriers have their own privacy practices when messages travel through their systems.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We don't publish your answers as a public spectacle. We may share limited details with a potential match only as needed to make an introduction — never as a data product.

We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety, rights, or integrity of MatchForge and the people who use it.

Your choices

You can ask us to correct or delete the information you submitted. Email hello@matchforge.app from a contact method we can reasonably associate with your request, and we'll help. You can also simply stop using the service and decline further outreach.

Children

MatchForge is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted data, contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes

If we update this policy in a meaningful way, we'll revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use after changes means you understand the updated policy.
